Desktop Publisher

In 2017, as a Freshman in Dublin City University, I got a contract job as a Desktop Publisher in Smartbox. Fast-forward to 2021, and I am now a full-time employee at the same company with a Master's degree in Emerging Media.

My role entails; Preparing, performing and QAing database publication tasks on a daily basis. Executing specific desktop publishing assignments following established processes workflows and guidelines. Working closely with Content and Product Marketing teams in order to deliver our projects within set deadlines.

The essential skills I needed to acquire this position and have developed are: Full proficiency in Adobe inDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Excellent eye for detail and good organisational skills .

Ability to handle multiple projects at a time and prioritise tasks.

Good team player

This position thought me everything I know about design and publishing. I learned how to deal with content delivered in 10 languages for 12 countries.

I produced content that is now available in stores in all the countries.
